November's Hospital Hero - Pamela O'Halloran
08 December 2014
November's Hospital Hero is Canvey Outpatients domestic, Pamela O'Halloran.
Pamela O'Halloran is not just the domestic at Canvey
Outpatients. Having worked in the department for 15 years, her
colleagues say that what she doesn't know about Canvey Outpatients
really isn't worth knowing!
Pamela joined the hospital in 1997 working as a domestic on
Gordon Hopkins and Blenheim wards; two years later she moved
permanently to Canvey Outpatients.
Described as the 'mum of the clinic' by receptionist Cathy
Worboys, Pamela is dedicated to keeping the department spotlessly
clean and welcoming for everyone. For staff she makes it more than
just a work place, organising collections for birthdays and often
bringing in treats for the whole team to share. She also covers
reception duties if needed and is always happy to help patients
with queries and problems; nothing is too much trouble.
Outpatients supervisor, Linda Weston, said: "It never ceases to
amaze us just how she manages to make the building so clean and
shiny. Every department should have a Pam!"
