A charity cricket match organised by Royal Bank of Scotland
staff in Southend helped raise more than £2,000 towards Southend
Hospital's Bosom Pals Appeal On The Road.
The fundraiser was the latest event in a long line of support
from various branches of the bank, which over past eight years has
donated around £70,000 to the hospital.
The latest donation was raised via a number of initiatives,
including dress down days, payroll giving, table sales collections
The Appeal was launched last October to ensure women in
southEssexget the same access to digital mammography as women
screened at the hospital's breast unit.
Community fundraising manager Kayley Harvey said: "Support like
this is just amazing and we are very grateful to RBS."
"Thanks to all the people who took part and to the Old
Southendians and Southchurch Cricket Club which allowed us the
pitch free of charge," says organiser Mick Davey from RBS. "We had
a great day."
