22 March 2012

Events

Anyone with an interest in how local health services are provided can put themselves forward for election to Southend University Hospital’s board of governors.

Nominations are being sought in a number of constituencies to represent the population served by the hospital:

  • Public governors:  two from Southend, two from Rochford and two from the 'rest of Essex', which can include candidates not actually resident in the county.
  • Patient governors: one from Southend, one from Castle Point, one from Rochford and one from the 'rest ofEssex', again including non-residents.
  • Carer governor: one to represent 'All Essex', also open to those not living in the county.

In addition, three 'worker governors' are being sought to represent staff working for the hospital trust.

Nomination packs with information about how to stand for election will be available from Wednesday, March 28 from returning officer, Caroline Hinchcliffe, at Electoral Reform Services, 33 Clarendon Road, London N8 0NW, telephone 0208 889 9203/0208 365 8909, email Caroline.Hinchcliffe@electoralreform.co.uk or from the Foundation Trust secretary, Anna Milanec, on Freephone 0800 018 5202, email Anna.Milanec@southend.nhs.uk

All nomination papers must be with the returning officer - not the hospital - by 5pm on Tuesday, April 17.
