Election time at the hospital

Anyone with an interest in how local health services are provided can put themselves forward for election to Southend University Hospital’s board of governors.
Nominations are being sought in a number of constituencies to
represent the population served by the hospital:
- Public governors: two from Southend, two from Rochford
and two from the 'rest of Essex', which can include candidates not
actually resident in the county.
- Patient governors: one from Southend, one from Castle Point,
one from Rochford and one from the 'rest ofEssex', again including
- Carer governor: one to represent 'All Essex', also open to
those not living in the county.
In addition, three 'worker governors' are being sought to
represent staff working for the hospital trust.
Nomination packs with information about how to stand for
election will be available from Wednesday, March 28 from returning
officer, Caroline Hinchcliffe, at Electoral Reform Services, 33

All nomination papers must be with the returning officer - not
the hospital - by 5pm on Tuesday, April 17.
Ballot papers will be distributed to qualifying Foundation Trust
members from Friday, May 4, unless a candidate is elected
unopposed. Completed ballot papers must be received by the
returning officer by 5pm on Monday, May 28 and the result will be
announced at the Trust's offices on Friday, June 1.
