Don’t panic! Hospital charity gift fair will solve your Christmas headaches
06 November 2014
Started Christmas shopping yet? Don’t despair, you’ll find a whole host of unique presents when Southend Hospital stages its popular annual craft and gift fair later this month at The Mill in Rayleigh.
There'll be handicrafts, jewellery, cards and toys galore,
giving you loads of original gift ideas to have you ticking names
off your list, and there'll also be Santa in his grotto.
Local pottery painting experts, The Clay Cottage, will also be
on hand offering shoppers the chance to personalise purchased
gifts. Christmas shopping always works up an appetite so plenty of
refreshments have been laid on, as well as a raffle.
The fair runs from 10.30am to 4.00pm at The Mill, Bellingham
Lane, Rayleigh on Sunday 16 November and entry costs £1.50 for
adults (under-16s free) and there is also free parking at the
venue. All proceeds from entry on the day will benefit the Southend
Hospital Charitable Foundation's Keyhole Cancer Appeal.
Elise Fleetwood, event manager at the hospital, said: "The
annual craft fair is always extremely popular in the run-up to
Christmas and we are sure this year's will be no exception. It will
be great to see the fantastic handmade gifts produced by some
highly talented local crafts people, which will make perfect gifts
and stocking fillers.
"We are hugely thankful to event organiser and charity trustee,
Malachy O'Sullivan, for his on-going commitment to this event and
also local supporter, Colin Patient, our fabulous new grotto
recruit. We are hoping for a bumper turn-out and welcome
