Team spirit boosts hospital charity

There was a nailbiting finish to a fundraising cricket fixture organised by Royal Bank of Scotland’s service centre.
The highly-contested struggle - played out by Steve's Spinners,
Mick's Medium Pacers and Gareth's Googlies - coincided with a
charity raffle and dress-down day at Old Southendian and
Southchurch Cricket Club to benefit Southend University Hospital's
Bosom Pals Appeal On The Road and the cricket club's community
coaching activities. Each received a cheque for £1,150. All three
games of 10 overs-a-side were extremely close, with two of them
being decided on the very last ball bowled.
The hospital's community fundraising manager, Kayley Harvey,
said: "We are enormously grateful to all the RBS staff who gave up
their spare time to help our appeal. Although the matches were
ferociously competitive, they were played in a great spirit and
everyone enjoyed the atmosphere of the day.
"We really would like to thank everyone involved, with a special
mention for staff charity coordinator Mick Daley for his continued
