Ladybird Nursery children made their ward rounds this morning at Southend University Hospital spreading Christmas cheer.
The little ones, all dressed up in their festive finest
delivered Christmas cards to poorly patients.
Hundreds of handmade Christmas cards have been donated to the
nursery so that the children can pass them on to those spending the
season in hospital.
The children were dressed in a selection of cute costumes
including angels, shepherds and Christmas puddings.
Jacqueline Totterdell, chief executive, said: "The children were
really excited about visiting the wards. It's such a lovely thing
for them to do and brings so much joy to patients at this time of
year."
Claire Ricks, acting deputy manager of the nursery, said:
"Delivering the Christmas cards to patients was a huge success; the
children loved dressing up & bringing smiles to the faces of
visitors, staff and patients."
