Southend University Hospital’s expanding theatres department is holding a recruitment day for qualified staff on Saturday 28 June, from 10am – 2pm.

Roles on offer include full-time theatre nurse positions, operating department practitioners and theatre support workers with band five, six and seven positions available.

The event will be held in the day stay surgery unit where potential staff will have the chance to look round one of the hospital's theatres and speak to the team to find out more about the roles and working at the hospital.

The hospital's expertise in treating patients needing vascular surgery means we are committed to pushing ahead with the new dedicated endovascular theatre development, to ensure our local population have access to a state of the art theatre for vascular surgery, alongside our highly skilled surgical teams, as soon as possible.

The hospital are also raising £600,000 for a new state-of-the-art keyhole theatre through their new Keyhole Cancer Appeal, which will increase the quality and quantity of a wide variety of surgery it offers.

David Heaver, clinical service manager, said:  "I'm a local lad and I'm passionate about bringing the team forward, the department has a really bright future. I'll be there on the day to speak to any potential staff about the opportunities available in this friendly team that has many genuinely exciting challenges ahead."

Potential staff are also asked to bring along their CVs on the day.
