Basildon and Southend Hospitals jointly launch new group for lung cancer patients

22 October 2014

Health Care

A new group has been jointly launched by specialist nurses from both Basildon and Southend University Hospitals to offer support and advice to people dealing with lung cancer and mesothelioma, a cancer which affects the lining of the lung.

Patients being treated at Basildon and Southend hospitals are encouraged to attend and may find it can help them cope better and feel less isolated as they make connections with others facing similar challenges.

Relatives and carers of patients with these conditions are also welcome to attend.

The sessions will be attended by at least one clinical nurse specialist from Basildon University Hospital or Southend University Hospital.

Meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of the month, starting on 4 November at 10am at the Holy Family Parish, 661 High Road, Benfleet, SS7 5SF. Plenty of parking is available and light refreshments will be served.

Upcoming meeting dates 2014-2015:

4 Nov 2014
2 Dec 2014
3 Jan 2015
3 Feb 2015
3 March 2015
7 April 2015

All meeting times are 10am to 11am.
