Sweet dreams are made of this donation

You could say that nobody does it ‘bedder’ than the M&S Southend store, which has raised an impressive £2,753.00 for the Neptune children’s ward at Southend Hospital.
The donation will be going toward some new overnight chair beds
for parents who have to stay on the ward with their ill children.
They raised the money in store by doing cake sales, raffles, a
sponsored green t-shirt day amongst staff and a static bike
challenge, where members of staff were sponsored for the amount of
time they cycled.
Lana Lee, store manager at M&S Southend, said: "Each year
M&S stores across the UK select local charities to support and
this year we chose the Neptune children's ward, due to the
fantastic work it does providing high quality care for children
with both medical and surgical conditions.
"We are delighted with the dedication of our employees at
M&S Southend have shown to raise the amount we have for this
great cause. Not only have we been able to raise awareness of the
unit, but also provide financial support so they can continue their
Community fundraiser at the hospital, Mica Day, added: "These
special beds will be an invaluable addition to the ward for both
children and parents as it will mean a lot less disruption for them
both at what can be a stressful and difficult time."
