05 February 2016
An amazing £3,000 cheque has been handed over to Southend Hospital’s Charity by the Westcliff Rotary Club.
The cheque was from last year's mega-successful 'Boogie at the
Barn 2' event, which was organised in conjunction with Graham
Moorcroft, director of Tropicana Nights & Funky Floors
The money, which will benefit the Keyhole Cancer Appeal, was
presented to the Hospital Charity events & corporate relations
manager, Elise Fleetwood, by Rotary Club members Richard
Tremaine, joint president, Howard Ife, senior vice president and
members Geoffrey Brennan and Alan Samuels.
Elise said: "We're massively grateful to Graham and all the
involved members of the club for making this event a real success,
it really went down a storm which is fitting given the challenging
weather conditions they had to work against. It didn't dampen
spirits though and this cheque has certainly helped raise
Richard Tremaine, joint president, said: "Westcliff Rotary Club
were extremely proud to present a cheque of £3000 for the Keyhole
Cancer Appeal at Southend Hospital. This was raised at our annual
charity music festival 'Soundfield'. This year 'Soundfield'
will be held at Garons Park on the weekend of 3rd and
4th June to continue raising charitable funds for the
hospital and local community."
