Julie Harman (stroke support worker), Pamela Turnnidge (stroke database coordinator), Emma Wilding (staff nurse) and Fiona Golding (deputy sister) held a charity table sale in the Cardigan wing of the hospital in December and sold handmade crochet and crafts as well as raffled a beautiful hamper. They raised over £600 for their stroke unit.
Julie said: "The main aim was to raise enough funds to purchase
communicators for patients with hearing problems and we raised more
than we needed.
"Charitable funds are always spent on enhancing the service we can
provide here at the hospital.
"Sometimes that means purchasing the latest equipment or
refurbishing a ward, but it can also mean funding smaller items
such as musical instruments for patients undergoing rehabilitation
on our stroke unit."
