Health Care

Over one million children under the age of 15 are taken to A&E after experiencing an accident in or around a home.

Now, Southend Hospital is delivering training sessions aimed at everyone from parents, carers, family members and babysitters. The sessions will teach people about recovery positions, choking and how to give CPR and will use baby and junior resus manikins as part of the training.

The first session takes place on Wednesday 22 February from 6.30pm - 8.30pm, and is focussed on babies aged up to one year old. Another session is aimed at those caring for children aged over one year old and takes place on Wednesday 8 March, also from 6.30pm - 8.30pm.

Places are limited to 14 people for each session and there is a minimum donation of £20 per person. Those completing a session will be awarded a certificate by the training session provider, PJ First Aid Training Ltd.
