NHS Cyber Attack - updated 16 May 2017

Updated 16 May 2017: Southend University Hospital has not, at this time, been directly affected by the global cyber attack.
However, as an early precaution to ensure the continuing safety
of patients and IT systems, the hospital's IT Department
disconnected access to the internet and external emails.
We have safely brought most of our IT systems and computers back
online after ensuring that the most recent security updates have
been applied. As a precaution to protect our systems and data, some
systems, including the sending and receiving of external emails,
