Fundraising

The 4th annual charity football match between Southend Hospital and Sky Athletic took place on Sunday 19 May and was organised, once again, by Southend University Hospital Renographer Marc Oxford from Rayleigh.

The fantastic family-fun event, held at the Len Forge Centre in Eastwood, raised £876.64 for the Neonatal Unit and in total has raised almost £4,000 for Southend Hospital Charity since 'kicking off' in 2016!

Marc said ""The special care baby unit is very close to my heart as when my daughter Lois was born she spent some time on the unit. The staff are amazing and the care and treatment my daughter received I couldn't ask for more. They always need equipment so the donation makes a massive difference."

Lucy Thomas-Clayton, Associate Director for Charities & Voluntary Services at Southend University Hospital, said "Thanks to Marc and everyone else involved in making the 2019 event another success, and many congratulations to the Southend Hospital team who won 2-1."
