As well as raising over £2,000 in store they recently donated a trolley full of personal radios and fans.

Becky Hill, from the Local Store, Rayleigh, said: "We are delighted to be given a chance to donate essential items that the Stroke Unit at Southend Hospital need, especially with the hot weather we have started to experience. It has been great to be able to make patients have a more comfortable stay.

"We know how much these small things are appreciated by the patients and staff when we bring them to the wards."
