Infection prevention and control
As a Trust we have policies and guidelines to prevent and control infections.
Clostridium difficile
We have had to report episodes of Clostridium
difficile (C. diff) in all patients ages 65 and over
since January 2004. From April 2007 this was extended to
include all episodes in patients aged two years and over.
MRSA blood infections
Surveillance and recording of
Meticillin-resistant Stapyhlococcus
aureus (MRSA) blood infection (bacteraemia) has been
mandatory for all NHS acute trusts in England since April 2004.
Our target for 2016/17 is zero tolerance.
