Ward details

Surgical assessment offers a focal point for all emergency general surgical, urological and some specific orthopaedic admissions.  Our highly trained staff and facilities enable patient's rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilisation and/or treatment, prior to transfer to an appropriate area or discharge.

The patient, patient's relatives and carers are consulted throughout their stay, to enable their participation endeavours about treatment and plan of care.  We aim to promote high standards of patient care maintaining dignity, privacy and personal beliefs together as a specialise team.  We strive to make our patients stay as pleasant as possible whilst maintaining a calm, friendly atmosphere within the unit.

Visiting and other instructions

Visiting hours are 07:00 to 21:00. Please speak to the nurse in charge if you wish to visit during mealtimes.  No more than two visitors per patient at any time.

Please talk to the nurse in charge to arrange to speak with the doctor.
