Chronic jaundice, history of IVDU or other risk behaviour, abnormal LFT >3 months

Specific Criteria

Please give detailed clinical information, including the date of onset/contact with the suspected infection

Turnaround Time

Tests are performed weekly, usually on Monday with the results available on Monday afternoon
Samples giving a positive screening test result will be reported as such and sent to a Reference Laboratory for further tests (Addenbrookes). Results of these tests will usually be available 7 - 10 days after the date of the original in-house screening test

Causes for Rejection

Unlabelled / inadequately labelled sample
Delay in sample reaching laboratory
No evidence of clinical indication for test (see above)

Lab Handling

Aliquot and store at 4ºC prior to testing; store at -40ºC for 3 months following testing
